The deadline for entering the 200m & 400m Championships and Time Trials is fast approaching. Entry is open to all club members, including Masters and Thursday night group swimmers who are confident in racing 50m distances.
🏊 Event Overview
This weekend event is designed to challenge swimmers across multiple distances and strokes. While it may seem like a lot to take on, it’s a great test of endurance and stamina.
If you’re entering all of the 200m and 400m events, we do not recommend also entering every 50m event.
The 50m events are time trials only and do not contribute to championship points.
🧮 Age Groups & Scoring
200m Events (Male/Open & Female Categories)
Age Groups:
- 11 & Under
- 13 & Under
- 14 & Over
(Based on age as of 31st December 2025)
Awards:
- Awards for the Top 3 in each age group/event
- Overall Age Group Champion Trophies awarded by total points
Points System:
- 1st – 6 pts
- 2nd – 5 pts
- 3rd – 4 pts
- 4th – 3 pts
- 5th – 2 pts
- 6th – 1 pt
400m Events (Male/Open & Female Categories)
Age Groups:
- 11 & Under
- 13 & Under
- 14 & Over
Awards: Trophies for age group winners
Points: Same system as 200m events
400m races also count towards the 800m Distance Challenge, with overall distance awards later in the year across:
- 400m Freestyle
- 400m IM
- 800m Freestyle
💡 Summary
The more 200m and 400m races you enter, the more points you can score — increasing your chances of becoming an overall age group champion.
The 50m events are great for extra racing experience but do not contribute to championship standings.
