Strong Performances on the National and European Stage

It was a successful period of racing for Harwich swimmers, with standout performances at both the Swim England Winter National Championships and the European Masters Championships.

At the Swim England Winter National Championships, Emily Turner produced an excellent swim in the 50m breaststroke. Going into the event ranked 67th overall, Emily delivered a superb performance to climb to 47th place by the end of the championships. Her time of 33.18 seconds not only secured her a new personal best and club record, but also saw her finish as the 9th fastest 16-year-old in the competition — a fantastic achievement on a highly competitive national stage.

Meanwhile, Head Coach Katie Holmes was competing at the European Masters Championships, taking on a demanding programme of events against the best Masters swimmers in Europe. The competition began with the 100m Individual Medley, where Katie finished an impressive 5th overall. She then moved on to her specialist 50m breaststroke, narrowly missing her best time but still finishing joint 2nd to claim a silver medal at European level.

Further success followed in the 100m breaststroke, where Katie produced one of the standout swims of the meet, finishing 2nd overall with a new personal best time of 1:17.00. The performance also set a new East Region Masters record, underlining her continued progression at international level. Katie also competed in the 50m butterfly, finishing 8th overall and just outside her lifetime best.

These results reflect the strength and depth of performance across the club, with swimmers excelling both nationally and internationally, and highlight the positive impact of consistent training, commitment, and ambition at all levels.
